          Who am I?

My name is Ron VanPeursem, and I’m the author of this blog for expats. My wife and I are Americans, living and working in India.

I have developed this blog because too many expats are not figuring out how to connect in their new world. They’re living in a sort of isolation, not moving toward becoming insiders in their new communities. It’s not easy to become an insider; it requires too much change in us, and it wears us out if we’re not careful.

So we try to provide content here that will help expats think more deeply about what’s happening AROUND THEM, and about what’s happening IN THEM.

Our motto is, “Be a Learner | Get Local”

            Who do I work for?

The company I work for, Shift Digital Media, has me posted here in India to give direction to our Asia Operations (even though most of my international experience has been in Latin America). This new responsibility keeps me constantly engaged in the real and practical challenges of becoming an insider in a “new world”.
